A set of melamine stackable mugs designed by Massimo Vignelli (1931-2014) for Heller. Made in the 1960s, this set includes seven orange mugs, each marked “HELLER MAXMUG DESIGNED BY MASSIMO VIGNELLI MADE IN U.S.A.” to the underside. The mugs feature curved and hollow handles with rounded corners that are the full height of the mug.
Massimo Vignelli spearheaded designs for advertising, housewares and furnishings. He and his wife, Lella, co-founded Vignelli Associates. Vignelli is best known for his use of geometric forms in the Modernist tradition.
