This is a fabulous sculpture purchased near the Borough Market in Central London and flown to the US. It depicts the playfulness and beauty of this magnificent animal with great detail. It has Greek key carved along the base and actual bells dangling from the harness. There is some sort of Asian writing on the neck but not able to translate. It is a form of ancient Chinese script put on bronzes and could be a poem or ritual verse. The age of this piece is unknown but it definitely is old. See less
