the armchairs are attributed to up závody, a major czech furniture manufacturer active in the post-war period, and stylistically associated with the work of jan vaněk. The design reflects strong architectural principles and functional aesthetics typical of czech mid-century modern furniture. The solid wooden construction remains in very good original condition, and the chairs have been professionally reupholstered.
