Bronze made … Read more This is a rare pair of Chaim Hendin bronze brutalist Jewish Judaica ceremonial candlesticks on base platform, c1970s. Bronze made with twisted bars with a very brutal look. Sticks sit on a platform base with front plates having Jewish prayers and passages. Made by the sought after and famous Latvian born sculptor Chaim Hendin (born 1920). Hendin, was soldier in the Russian Army during WWII and after the war emigrated to Israel where he started his career as an artist. His works are displayed in museums and gallery collections. Measures 10.25 wide X 4 deep X 14.25 inches high on base. Sticks measure 3.5 X 3.5 X 12 inches standing. See less
