It is a Mid Century Modern classic, a "Corso", designed by Ingrid Atterberg (1920-2008) for Upsala-Ekeby of Sweden in 1954. The Corso series was produced until 1963. This Bud Vase is Model 2146. The vase is a footed 8" tall Corseted vase. The interior and the foot of the vase area solid white. The body is scraffito through a brown glaze. The tile-like exterior wall is an ever so diligent design of horizontal, horizontal, and diagonal lines, which at first appear fully intended and later appear haphazard. The lines reveal what appears to be a white underglaze, through a brown exterior. The design is interspersed with colorful tiles here and there. The vase is in excellent condition and marked at base.
