About the artist: Ottorino Mancioli (1908-1990) belongs to the great generation of modern italian artist that flourished between the 1920s and 1930s.
By blending futurist and cubist visions he excelled rendering through different media but mostly on paper, in bold yet plastic synthesis and through a unique personal drive , the human body movements in all its expressions
Throughout the post war years and till his death his art departed from any conventional style, charged with expressionist vision, yet very much minimalistic , almost zen through distinct recognizable pencil, indian ink or charcoal combined with tempera essential strokes.
An eclectic soul true to his time Ottorino Mancioli who as a combatant took actively part in the last world war documenting it through his art , was also a physician, as well as a writer on both medicine and sport.
