The polished tourmaline cabochons are well-matched and have excellent clarity with very few inclusions. The stones come in many colors including dusty pinks, purples, mint green, lime green, olive green, and highly sought after blue tones reminiscent of indicolite. Though there is quite a range of colors, they are all of similar hue, creating a piece that is harmonious and balanced in tonality. The construction of the piece was labor intensive: each cabochon is drilled through and then thread by hand with gold wire individually twisted off after each bead, known as hand-wiring. The necklace has a long length of 34.25”, so it can be worn in a variety of ways, and also looks great as a bracelet.

Syna was founded in 2003, creating jewelry for Paloma Picasso, Tiffany & Co., and Bulgari, before evolving into a renown jewelry house. Many of their pieces revolve around colored cabochons, and the design for each piece “begins with a gemstone, its glow and its truth, then unfolds through artistry and intention.”

The necklace contains 73 polished tourmaline stones, with a TCW of approximately 60 carats. The stones range in size from 9.25 - 6 mm to 6.5 x 5 mm.

The necklace is 34.25” in length and weighs 22.9 grams. It has a beautiful toggle clasp. Marked as 750 and Syna. See less
