An elegant Italian writing desk from the 1940s, designed by Osvaldo Borsani. This piece embodies the excellence of Milanese cabinetmaking of the period, blending rationalist lines with haute couture decorative details.
The piece is entirely veneered in fine walnut, characterized by a warm, flamed grain. The distinctive feature is the backrest with its "grissinata" (thin vertical ribbing) finish, a trademark of Borsani's work from this period, making the desk perfect for placing in the center of a room. The front features four drawers with meticulously finished interiors and original solid brass knobs, providing an elegant highlight. The tapered legs lend a visual lightness to the structure while maintaining extreme solidity. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
