About the Tango Dog:
The story of Tango Dog follows: As a boy, Diego Lukezic lived in the metropolis of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Every other day, Diego and his mother would walk to the outdoor market on the corner to shop for groceries. As soon as the two would reach the outdoors, Diego could hear the vibrant Tango music. As quickly as he could, Diego happily skipped through the cobblestone streets to hear the music. At the thriving market, the vendors kindly greeted Diego and his mother; and in the center of it all was the beloved TangoMan. He wore a long coat with a black hat that covered his face, sitting on a wooden crate with his Bandoneon (a music instrument) on his lap. He would sing and play lovely music for coins and always accompanying him was the black and white spotted TangoDog. This little dog was Diego's favorite character in the whole market. Each time TangoDog would see Diego, he jumped and danced with excitement. Diego would always ask his mother for change to tip the TangoMan, secretly using this as an excuse to sit and play with TangoDog. This continued for several years, with Diego and TangoDog growing a sincere, tight knit bond. For Diego, the dog was his bestfriend. Unfortunately, Diego's family decided to move across the city, away from his beloved TangoDog. It crushed Diego, knowing that it was very likely he wouldn't see his best friend again. This is what spurred Diego to start drawing and painting TangoDog. Diego would never forget the expression in TangoDog's eyes as he walked away that final day at the market, and it is that face which TangoDog would always portray. Years passed by, yet Diego still missed his TangoDog. One day after school, Diego went to visit his Grandmother, near his old neighborhood. As he walked along, a familiar man with a black hat caught his eye. Diego knew immediately that it was the TangoMan. Diego ran to him and asked, "Where is Tango, your dog?" With a frown, the TangoMan replied," He is dead and so is my music." Diego solemnly responded, "He is dead for you, but not for me. He will live forever in my drawings." This empowered him to continue his artistic endeavors, creating painting after painting in tribute to TangoDog. To this day, for Diego, the TangoDog lives eternally within his paintings.
Currently Diego & Valery with their children are living in New Orleans.
