Construction I 1924 by Walter Dexel for Edition Panderma, Basel, 1924This serigraph, titled Construction I 1924, is a work by Walter Dexel. Produced in 1924 by Edition Panderma, Basel, this piece is part of Edition of 230.Walter Dexel (1890–1973) was a German painter, typographer, and designer, and a key figure in Constructivism. Initially influenced by Expressionism, he turned to a rigorous geometric abstraction in the 1920s, closely allied with the De Stijl group and the Bauhaus. Dexel was also a pioneer of modern graphic design and illuminated advertising in Frankfurt. His compositions are characterized by a dynamic equilibrium of vertical and horizontal elements, often using primary colors to structure space.Condition:
