Produced in 1977 by Edition Partanen, Schluchsee, this piece is part of Edition of 90.Ilya Bolotowsky (1907–1981) was a Russian-American painter and a founding member of the American Abstract Artists (AAA). Heavily influenced by Piet Mondrian and Neoplasticism, Bolotowsky adapted the strict grid of De Stijl into a more varied and colorful language, often utilizing tondo (circular) and diamond-shaped canvases. His work searches for a dynamic equilibrium of pure colors and vertical/horizontal lines.Condition:
