Schlemmer's works primarily explore the human figure's position in space. Naturally, the "Max" shelf also bears a resemblance to Susi and Ueli Berger's "Fächermann" (Fan Man), produced by the Röthlisberger company in 1977. "Max" was manufactured in the 1980s by the Austrian company Team7. The shelf is made of solid elm wood. It is freestanding and requires no wall mounting.
