Produced sometime between 1874 and 1909, this scarce Villeroy & Boch Herring Box is in immaculate condition, save the small loose piece of ceramic rattling around inside the lid.
Just over one foot in length, this imposing box was made to marinate herring. However, it appears to be unused.
Glossy glaze and blue graphics are vibrant and crisp (although the stamping on the lid is lighter in color than the main box).
