This exceptional pair of glass vitrines is a luxurious example of furniture design from the Art Deco period, manufactured in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. The cabinets are veneered in maple, whose light color and delicate grain lend the entire set an extraordinarily elegant and airy appearance, highly prized during this era for its modernity. As part of a professional restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived, restoring the natural depth and silky luster.
The upper display section of each vitrine is crafted from clear glass, allowing an unobstructed view of displayed collectibles. The back panels are fitted with mirrors that have been professionally cleaned, optically enlarging the interior space and the entire room while adding another dimension to displayed items through light reflections. The lower enclosed sections provide practical storage and are decorated with the geometric veneer patterns typical of the refined taste of the First Republic.
Both vitrines are characterized by a stable and robust construction, testifying to the high quality of period craftsmanship. They are fully functional, and the absence of distracting hardware allows the purity of the maple wood and the geometry of the forms to stand out. This rarely preserved matching pair will serve as a dominant feature in a prestigious salon or a modern interior, bringing a sense of clarity and timeless luxury.
