Exceptional pair of antique English leather club chairs dating to the late 19th / early 20th century. Each chair features deep hand-tufted original leather upholstery in a warm cognac tone, beautifully aged with rich patina and natural wear.

The chairs are distinguished by their bold barrel-form silhouettes and finely hand-carved walnut frames, featuring scrolling foliate and shell motifs along the arms, apron, and feet. Finished with original brass nailhead trim following the contours of the arms and back.

Structurally sound, springs are all well-tied and underpinnings in excellent shape. One chair has tears in the original muslin dust cover, easily replaced (see photo). VERY comfortable, with original leather cushions and excellent presence. A rare and substantial pair, ideal for a library, study, or living room.
