Early 19th century japanned tin tea caddy of rectangular form, finished in a deep black ground with subtle gilt decoration and banded detailing. The hinged lid opens to a divided interior, originally intended for separating different tea varieties. A turned finial knob tops the lid, and the original lock remains in place with an accompanying period key.
