Built primarily of poplar, a lightweight yet durable wood traditionally favored for fine French trunks, the case is reinforced with darkened iron straps and corner mounts and fitted throughout with brass hardware, rivets, and clasps, all retaining a rich, time-worn patina.
The exterior displays beautifully aged wood panels with warm tonal variation, surface marks, and scuffs consistent with extensive historical use, enhancing its authentic antique character.
