Made by the renowned brand Meriden Britannia in Connecticut, USA, sometime between 1898 and 1930s. (The Meriden Britannia Company was founded in 1852 and ceased to exist as an independent entity in 1898 when it became part of the International Silver Company, but the Meriden Britannia Company's marks were used until the 1930's.)
A curved shape that fits nicely in a pocket. Smooth rounded edges. Nice weight in the hand.
Beautiful patina for a decorative item.

- The lid can be screwed open and shut, but the cork on the inside of the lid is aged and … moreThe lid can be screwed open and shut, but the cork on the inside of the lid is aged and brittle. When tested it drips a drop now and then when upside down or on it's side. Not a problem if you can keep it upright in an inner coat pocket. There are dents, dings, scratches, and a nice patina, all contributing to the vintage charm and history of this ca 100 year old piece. Will darken more if you let it - or polish if you prefer. less
