A well-executed American Impressionist Landscape Painting.

18" wide by 14.5" tall by .5 deep.

Presented in similarly period gilt wood frame - the entire package has wonderful patina with still crisp detailing.

Appears to be unsigned, but is marked Kolesch & Co, 138 Fulton Street, New York No. 4 on board on reverse.

There's one spot of paint loss at 1 o'clock on the top edge - does not detract.

Followers of our store know we dearly love original landscapes - especially when they are very well executed, clearly American, and bring the mystery of an unknown artist.

My father-in-law has a saying about buying fine portraits of people you do not know - "make them instant ancestors" he says, and create a story about them.

We apply the same logic to a fine painting like this one - a work that clearly has pedigree, but to us is unknown. Makes for great fun, great value at purchase, and an opportunity to "wink" at the sometimes all too serious world of art and antiques.
