Bror Julius Olsson Nordfeldt (Swedish-American, 1878-1955) was an accomplished painter and printmaker associated with the American Modernist movement. Trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Academie Julian in Paris, Nordfeldt achieved early success as an illustrator before becoming known for his bold compositions and masterful use of color and light. He exhibited widely throughout his career, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. His works are represented in major museum collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
