A pretty side or end table in an unusual shape. This early American Director style mahogany table is made with a clover shaped top. The top and the bottom shelf of this table feature brass mounts around its edges and on the carved wood legs.

The company was founded in 1835 by Leonard Baker Shearer, who initially established a production and sales operation in a small rented space. John S. Paine joined the business in 1845 and the name was changed to Shearer & Paine in 1854. Upon Shearer’s death in 1864, the firm officially became Paine’s Furniture Company

Original wood finish with some common wear from use and age.
The brasses have natural brass patina and have not been shined up. Some brass areas have naturally risen from the wood edges from age but are stationary.
One leg has an old repair where it meets the underside of the table top.
