This pair of prints consists of his bald eagle and brown pelican lithographs. Per a 1981 version of Audubon’s Birds of America, “the eagle shown in this portrait was shot in 1820 when Audubon was going down the Mississippi in a flatboat. He painted the bird feeding on a Canada goose…This young pelican, painted in New Orleans, was one of Audubon’s mixed medium efforts: a combination of pencil, watercolor, pastel and oil.” The prints are matted in contemporary expresso-toned wood frames that set them off beautifully. Frames measure 27.75” X 33.5.” Prints as seen inside the mats are 15.5” X 21.5.” Note that the age of these two prints is unknown, but they were framed around 2020. See less
