Rare and discontinued 2007 Fornasetti style, highly-collectible "15 Perpetual Hands" sculptural art bowl by The Museum Store (TMS.)
Inspired or copied by Jonathan Adler, this fabulous work of whimsical pop art is part of TMS’ highly sought after Vitruvian Collection.
Large, dramatic bowl adorned with very defined hands and fingers that overtop the rim.
Piece is substantial and heavy. Large scale work is the perfect focal centerpiece for a coffee or dining room table. The bottom of the interior is inscribed with the words, “A Very Handy Bowl Indeed.”
The piece is made of an off-white ceramic/resin composite which looks, feels and is weighty like solid plaster.
The collection, consisting of 20 or so sculptural art pieces, all released in very limited quantities and each design available for only a few months. They are highly collectible in the USA and internationally, and have fetched impressive prices at auction.
The perpetual designs; faces, lips, breasts, fingers and THIS, the bowl of perpetual hands are the most desired pieces The entire collection began in 2004 and was discontinued in 2009 and rarely come to market, and when they do, often have condition issues.
There is a patina that is part of the design. It is not dirt or discoloration. The pieces are off white. The darker patina shadows the intricate detailing giving the piece more depth visually.
This piece was created AND discontinued in 2007
All pieces have a whimsical sense of humor about them. Many were closely reimagined not only by Jonathan Adler, but by other artists as well. Looks great as is, or filled with decorative balls, etc.
