Created using traditional Japanese metal leaf techniques, this work intentionally embraces irregular textures, wrinkles, and subtle fractures—elements traditionally considered imperfections—transforming them into a modern, organic expression.

Layers of brass leaf and aluminum leaf are applied over a wooden panel using Hakuhaku’s proprietary techniques, forming soft, crater-like ripples reminiscent of the moon. The surface subtly changes over time, allowing the artwork to mature and develop a unique character.

Each panel is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans in Japan. As a result, no two pieces are exactly alike, making every work a true one-of-a-kind art piece.

Produced using techniques recognized as a Traditional Craft of Japan since 1977, this artwork embodies both heritage craftsmanship and modern artistic expression.
