The frame is finished in gold gilt and … Read more 19th-century Swedish gilt trumeau mirror richly decorated with extensive applied carving throughout. The frame is finished in gold gilt and features faces, a carved border, and vinework composed of fruit and nuts. The elaborate crest includes a central harp topped with clusters of grapes and leaves, along with three crowns symbolizing  Sweden.
The mirror plate appears original, with beveled edges, minor nicks /scuffs and the mirror is built in two sections in the traditional manner. Age-related wear to frame includes surface distress, minor water staining, nicks, scuffs, minor losses to the gilt finish, and old repairs to some cracks.
Despite the visible wear, the mirror remains solid and stable, ready to hang and enjoy as a dramatic architectural statement.
