One … Read more An iconic sideboard from the “Shanghai” model, designed and produced by Vivai del Sud in Italy during the 1970s. One of the most renowned series of 20th-century Italian bamboo design, it is highly prized by interior designers and collectors.

The piece stands out for its architectural and geometric design, with a balanced composition of straight lines and bold volumes. It is made entirely of natural bamboo, crafted with great precision: vertically arranged canes in the body and solid bamboo moldings that frame the whole, lending visual solidity and a sculptural character.

It features a warm, honey-toned patina, the result of the bamboo's natural aging and the original period finish. This is not a modern varnish, but a traditional treatment that allows the fibers, knots, and tonal variations inherent to the material to be appreciated, reinforcing its authenticity.
