pieces are made of metal … Read more Fantastic, set of 6, vintage, mid-century, frog knife rests/knife holders, from the 50's - 60's.

pieces are made of metal with a silver-plated coating, and a feature a sleek design, with a thin slot across the backs, in which to place dinner knives (see photos.) the set also comes with its original, crimson red-colored box made of skaï /leatherette (see photos). The inside has a velvet-like, cream-colored section with individual slots, in which to place each frog, and the top of the inside, has a satiny, pale copper-colored material that is cushioned, to protect each piece when the box is closed (see photos.)

the set is in overall good, original and vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structures and bases, as is to be expected for its age (see photos.) the box remains in very nice original condition. It has maintained its rich color, with very light signs of age and use, with a nice patina of time, and opens and closes properly. It has only been gently dusted with respect to its original patina of time.
