The underside label reads Vero Travertino di Rapolano, confirming the use of authentic Tuscan travertine, a prized Italian limestone quarried since Roman times and valued for its warm coloration, natural banding, and architectural character. Celebrated for transforming traditional Italian stone into bold modernist objects, Mannelli often referenced classical monuments through a clean, contemporary lens. The stepped, tapering silhouettes and varied heights create a rhythmic architectural presence, whether displayed as a set or individually.
