This is a Rosenthal Maria "Greenhaven" vintage German porcelain dinnerware set featuring their iconic scalloped rims and soft emerald green floral motif. The pattern dates from 1961-65 - smack in the middle of the stylish early Jackie Kennedy era. Back stamps show that the blanks are from 1934-1956, and a few items have an early postwar "US Zone" stamp as well.
The Maria shape (named after Rosenthal's wife, Maria) is Rosenthal’s most famous dinnerware form, introduced in 1916 and inspired by neo-classical European porcelain. The Greenhaven pattern was produced in the mid 20th century and is prized today for its soft emerald color combined with Rosenthal’s elegantly sculpted rim. Collectors value this line because Rosenthal discontinued many Maria variations, making surviving pieces increasingly sought after.

- Original set pieces are in very good condition with a few utensil marks consistent with an excellent vintage set. A … moreOriginal set pieces are in very good condition with a few utensil marks consistent with an excellent vintage set. A very few pieces were purchased later and have more wear marks than the rest (please look closely at photos. I have closeups of those with more wear marks - look for plates with Repalcements.com stickers still on them - available upon request). Overall a lovely set. Most pieces, including serving pieces, are in excellent condition. There are three additional pieces with small chips on them which I can also send if requested (salad plate, footed flat cup, demitasse cup.). NOTE: chipped pieces are included in photos; please request closeups if desired. PLEASE NOTE: I can deliver locally between Troy/Albany and New York City.
