Sculptures of this nature were especially popular during the 1950s–1970s as statement tabletop accents and conversation pieces, celebrating whimsical organic design paired with skilled metalwork craftsmanship. This sculpture comes in two pieces—the marble base and the brass sculpture. When seated into the marble, the sculpture fits exceptionally securely and solidly, and in my opinion does not require adhesive due to how firmly it rests in the base. See less
