Vintage antique porcelain box, jewelry box, trinket box, or pillbox from the 19th century, made by the House of Sèvres. … Read more Vintage antique porcelain box, jewelry box, trinket box, or pillbox from the 19th century, made by the House of Sèvres. Handmade and hand-painted in France around 1919. Decorated with a blue luster background adorned with bright gold borders. A Saxon-style floral bouquet is painted in the center. The metal mount, I believe bronze, is handcrafted, with a perfect clasp and hinge. It is in very good condition, as seen in the photos. Measurements: 19cm diameter x 5cm high. This piece is finished in the characteristic "Sèvres blue" of this old factory, obtained by incorporating cobalt oxide into the glaze. Sèvres is located between Paris and Versailles. Madame Pompadour (Jeanne Antinette Poisson, 1721-1764) was the main patron of the Sèvres porcelain factory, which has been producing porcelain for over 200 years.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
