Item :
Spectacular, extremely rare opaque green blown glass vase with golden iridescence and spectacular silver leaves applied to the mouth, set with delicate turquoise beads. Made by the renowned Bohemian manufactory of Johann Loetz (1778-1848), it is unsigned, like most Loetz glassworks, and dates from around 1900-1920. It is in the Art Nouveau style and can be attributed to one of the artists of the Wiener Werkstatte—Michael Powolny, Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann, or Dagobert Peche—who collaborated with Loetz, who produced many of their designs and models. In our opinion, the vase belongs to the rare artistic production of Loetz's Titania vases. Loetz's Titania vases are artistic glass vases in the Art Nouveau style, produced by the Austrian company Johann Loetz Witwe. The name "Titania" refers to a specific decoration using overlays of silver or a particular type of iridescent glass with metallic inclusions and reflections. These vases are characterized by elaborate shapes and the use of innovative manufacturing techniques to create unique color effects. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
