Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Feldman was a master of organic form, and this "pod" vessel showcases his highly tactile, labor-intensive approach to clay.

The piece features a meticulously hand-constructed exterior of overlapping botanical scales that create a dramatic play of light and shadow. The lower half of the vessel transitions into a rhythmic, combed sgraffito texture, providing a grounded, earthy contrast to the delicate leafwork above.

The top is designed as an integrated flower frog, featuring a cluster of seven apertures specifically intended for minimalist, architectural floral arrangements or single-stem dried botanicals. Finished in a sophisticated matte glaze of toasted ochre and creamy gray, this heavy, hand-built vessel is a standout addition to any collection of California Studio Pottery or an Organic Modern interior.
