This jug is called a "Haystack Jug" and has a capacity of 2 gallons. The jug has several lead oak stamps confirming its official capacity. Made of red copper, heavily used and with a beautiful, weathered patina. It dates from the late 19th century, but judging by the stamps, this example was used until the 1930s. A very characterful and historic object. 32cm high, 35cm wide, 29cm diameter. See less
