(dimensions may vary) materials: craft paper. Sophie mouton-perrat and frédéric guibrunet have been working with paper for almost twenty years, each in their own way. Since 2008, they have combined their know-how in joint creations, luminous, diaphanous, and bright sculptures. Sophie studied applied arts. First at the estienne school, then at ensaama, for training in synthetic materials. At the same time, she was already working with paper, folding, or papier-mâché. A material discovered at the same time as modeling, an interest confirmed by an internship with the farfelus farfadets. She invents characters, poetic and playful animals, inspired by fairy tales, films, children’s illustration, and everyday life. Her creations are colorful. She launched papier à êtres® in 2002. Frédéric has a background in chemistry. A profession he practiced for six years before becoming passionate about papermaking. He then traveled in search of the best recipes, the best methods, in europe, asia, and america. In 2003, he settled in quebec. He then created around this material, around watermark, and launched into collections of lighting fixtures to highlight his papers. He only works with white. Frédéric and sophie met in 2007, on the occasion of an exhibition dedicated to paper. A few months later, they created their first "mademoiselle": the pleated base, diffusing the light, is produced by fred, sophie models a bust there. Other models will follow, always unique, on white linen paper. They are now only looking to develop their collections; they imagine their creations together, starting from a draft, a sketch on which the other bounces. Frédéric brings a more pragmatic vision to the project, while sophie brings a more illustrative, more poetic aspect. The luminous sculptures of papier à êtres® are presented in many galleries and boutiques around the world. (japan, australia, the middle east, europe\.) after a first appearance in the window of the musée des arts décoratifs in paris in 2008, they reappeared with the "cabanons" collection presented in the windows in june 2012. Since 2009, collections dedicated to the ballets and operas of the season regularly inhabit the galerie de l'opéra garnier. Bonpoint and patek philippe, adler jewelers, and the lello bookstore have called on papier à êtres® for their christmas windows. The creations follow one another for taaj (cruises), van cleef & arpel, jorya, and tabbah. All our lamps can be wired according to each country.
