A high-quality Japanese Satsuma miniature vase from the late 19th century (Meiji period), with a finely crackled ivory glaze and delicate twin loop handles. The vase is richly decorated in polychrome enamels and generous gold, featuring a calm figural procession of seated robed figures set within a softly painted landscape, with architectural elements suggested in the distance.
The workmanship is notably crisp for the size, with controlled brushwork and strong gilding, reflecting the upper tier of Meiji Satsuma production in miniature form. The base carries the Shimazu mon (family crest) above a square gilt-on-black mark.
In excellent antique condition with no cracks, no chips and no repairs; only light, even wear to the gilding consistent with age.
