This beautifully printed 2010 coffee table book, Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks by Pierre Leonforte and Eric Pujalet-Plaa, is a 496 page testament to Vuitton's ingenuity and iconic style. Though we may think of LV as a luxury brand, many of the antique trunks featured in this book were utilitarian and custom outfitted for the world traveler including royals, celebrities, beloved pets and adventurers from far and wide. My personal favorites are the campaign style trunks that would convert into anything from a bed to a shower. Then you have the unique trunks especially made for everyone from Ernest Hemingway to Jeanne Lanvin, Damien Hirst, Sharon Stone and Karl Lagerfeld. LV is even looking ahead with a space age trunk for a journey to Mars...how chic! Also included are so many wonderful accessories that one could purchase for customizing the interiors. The book not only includes detailed photography but also fascinating text, rich illustrations and expensive printing techniques such as the inserts reproducing order forms, advertising, etc. as shown in photograph 17. And for the collectors, the final chapter of the book provides detailed photography of various locks, latches, strap buckles, finishes, etc. that have been used through the decades. Bound in hardback with paper and linen cover and printed in China by Abrams of New York.

Very good previously owned condition. There is a little light wear to the cover though nothing truly objectionable.
