Circa … Read more This is a great looking and very unusual antique American oak table top or desktop roll front file cabinet. Circa approximately 1900. It is made out of solid oak. The front of the cabinet rolls up and it's hidden when in use then rolls down to cover the front completely. The interior is fitted with shelves and cubbyholes to store your papers envelopes, etc. Note that the interior is made out of some other kind of wood, other than oak, possibly Alder or Beach. it is a very nice all original condition - Still retains its original varnish that has developed a nice color & patina over the years - displays well. The role mechanism works well. The divided interior is missing the top shelf. There is also a small piece of wood missing on the upper left-hand side top panel area. I'm not really sure why - could have been made that way for some reason ? but in any case it is not terribly noticeable. The original furnish has a very nice color of patina and displays very nicely. There's a few small stains on the top. It's a very good quality, well-made piece. I'm sure you'll be pleased when it arrives.
