What a stunning three piece, curvy sectional—with the original vinyl protectors still on it! You can almost envision Fran Drescher (Nanny Fine) going to her grandmother‘s house to clean the living room furniture—with a bottle of Windex! ;)
The sectional was a custom-designed furniture piece, by Soref’s Period Furniture Company, based in Chicago, Illinois. This is a unique, high-quality piece, that was tailored to specific aesthetics, preferences, and spatial requirements, in the 1960’s. The creamy-golden upholstery has been beautifully preserved—I do not believe that the vinyl protectors have ever been removed—or if anyone was allowed to sit on it! One end of the sofa is missing the top and bottom vinyl covers, but has its original seat cushion cover.
Note: A well-meaning husband went to “stage” their new sofa, as a surprise for his wife, and began cutting off the vinyl covers, that he had assumed were for protection, from shipping and handling. The wife had come home, in the midst of the sofa’s “haircut”, and gave her husband an “education” on the importance of vinyl protectors! FYI, the marriage DID survive! ;)
I was going to commission a new set of protectors, for the missing set, but then I realized that not everyone is fond of protectors on their furniture…!
The back is scalloped, so I took the tallest measurement for the height.
Measurements:
(2) end cap sofas = 59”W x 35.5” H x 36”D
(1) wedge sofa = 68”W x 34.5” H x 36”D
