Large French 19th Century Neoclassical bronze bas relief wall Plaque from the foundry of Ferdinand Barbedienne. This is an antique reproduction of a panel from "Singing Gallery" by Italian artist Luca Della Robbia (1400-1482). It is a Renaissance style musical allegory with figures in neoclassical attire with a lute and mandolin. This piece is solid cast bronze, not smelter. It features high relief modeling with fine details. Wonderful antique patina.
This is a larger size bronze than other renditions of this work at 22" tall. It is a substantial peiece weighing 35 lbs.
