The chairs have been restored and reupholstered in a burnt red martora "writing" velvet from rubelli, a versatile shade well-suited for contemporary interiors. The reupholstery of these frames was a technical challenge. Following the replacement of the internal padding, the velvet was secured using a complex understitching along the back of the body. This long, hand-finished line carries a slight, natural waving—a characteristic result of this traditional method. Additionally, the arm front plaques were reattached using headless nails, following the original construction of the piece. The chairs retain their original plated aluminum feet. These have undergone a conservative restoration, where they were cleaned to remove stains while preserving their antique patina. These feet are a signature design element for isa bergamo and their presence reconfirms the authenticity of the pair. The selection of rubelli martora velvet was chosen for its "writing" quality. While the internal materials have been replaced, the chairs maintain the original shape and comfort of the isa design.
