This rare, single vase was designed by Livio Seguso for Bisazza during the early 1990s. It is executed in a deep emerald pulegoso glass, utilizing the specialized crucible pulegoso technique. The mouth of the vase features a refined rim accented with applied gold leaf, which clearly shows the traditional overlapping of the hot glass bead. The Pulegoso finish is an ancient Murano method characterized by thousands of trapped air bubbles. In this instance, the effect is achieved through the crucible process, where specific mineral particles are added to the molten mass to trigger a gas-releasing reaction. The execution of this vase follows a high technical standard, particularly evident in the application of the gold leaf at the rim. This piece belongs to a limited collection produced by Livio Seguso during the brief period in the early 1990s when the furnace was under Bisazza ownership. This era was a significant turning point for Seguso; by transitioning away from company ownership, he gained the creative freedom to pursue his career as an independent artist—a trajectory shared by contemporaries such as Luciano Vistosi. Bisazza, primarily recognized for luxury mosaics, maintained the Seguso models for the first half of the decade before ultimately closing the furnace. Following the closure, Seguso’s master glassmakers, Elio Raffaelli and Roberto Camozzo, continued the massiccio production tradition independently. The vase is marked with the Bisazza logo. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
