Each … Read more An elegant Parisian commode in the Transition style, crafted from marquetry, opening with three drawers in a curved front. Each drawer is finely inlaid with ebony wood framed by a blackened wood stringing, and adorned with gilt bronze foliate pulls, a functional lock, and a chased bronze keyhole escutcheon.
The lower rail is highlighted by rich bronze mounts depicting scrolling foliage, while the sides, also curved, feature butterfly wing marquetry made of leaves.
The cabriole legs are enhanced with a wide stringing of ebony wood along the edge and extend into convex feet adorned with bronze sabots.

The whole is crowned with a Griotte red marble slab with a corbin-shaped edge, which gracefully follows the lines of the piece. with its restrained proportions and quality of craftsmanship, this commode will appeal to lovers of refined furniture that combines elegance and masterful craftsmanship.
