Italian midcentury modern design armchair from the “Artona” serie designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto in the 1970s, with a wooden frame featuring decorative bands created by layering and processing different types of wood, seat and backrest with foam padding and original period velvet fabric upholstery.
The most distinctive features of this armchair are the flat armrests and the backrest, which is shaped and supported by flat solid wood pieces, the shape of which is emphasized by dark piping in various woods.
