This original woodcut print by Max Kahn dates to 1963 and exemplifies the artist’s bold mid-century abstraction.
The composition features dramatic angular forms within a richly textured field, evoking an abstracted maritime or industrial landscape. Strong contrasts and expressive carving are characteristic of Kahn’s mature printmaking style of the early 1960s.
The work is hand-signed, dated, and numbered 5/121 in pencil along the lower margin.
Provenance: Acquired in the 1960s by the seller’s family and retained in the family collection ever since.
