A dramatic and finely carved 19th century Italian Baroque console table featuring an ornately sculpted giltwood base and rich black marble top. The shaped apron is adorned with deep shell and acanthus carvings, flanked by voluted cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet. A richly detailed stretcher centers around a floral medallion, completing the symmetrical drama of the silhouette.
The wood retains a warm, aged patina with traces of original gilding that lend a layered, timeworn elegance. The original marble top is honed and veined, providing a cool contrast to the opulence of the base.
