Hand-crafted ceramic vase, two-handled, in the shape of a roman or etruscan amphora, with a rich matte engobe glaze, worked and engraved with a gouge to create four stylized figures of women, commoners in neoclassical style, interspersed with beautiful purple columns. The base is signed "deruta italy" with a pen and a catalog number with the letter "v" shaped like the "u," the famous trademark of the c.i.m.a. Perugia factory. The vase is of good size and is quite tall. The vase's main beauty lies not only in the rich engobe decorations, but also in the unique depiction of the subjects, which, while harking back to a neoclassical style, have a distinct influence on mid-20th-century modern design, such as those of giò ponti, andlovitz, rometti, and others.
