A delightful cup-shaped vase, made of very thick, entirely hand-cut crystal, clear in some areas and red in others, enriched … Read more A delightful cup-shaped vase, made of very thick, entirely hand-cut crystal, clear in some areas and red in others, enriched with gold oxides, featuring a central decoration made of hot-applied white glass paste, depicting a lady and trees, finished in pure gold on the mouth and base. The vase is unsigned, but attributable to the artistic glassworks of val saint lambert in belgium, dating to the early decades of the 20th century. The art nouveau vase features the multi-pointed star beneath the base, a feature found in all artistic crystal from val saint lambert. The glass paste decorations are exquisite, entirely hand-crafted, and of the highest quality. The crystal used is excellent, thick and very heavy, and the inlays, also hand-crafted by the artist, are marvelous. The decorations, featuring a very fine grid entirely hand-crafted, are serrated on the base. Finally, the pure gold finish, both on the mouth and base, is beautiful, with two very elegant concentric circles.
