A magnificent small tree with a glazed and vitrified ceramic lid, entirely wheel-modeled and hand-decorated with papyrus plants on the belly and geometric decorations on the mouth and base. It is signed "GMS" under the base and, in our opinion, attributable to the workshop of Mastro Giorgio di Gubbio, who signed with the same letters, though usually in slightly different characters and layout. The vase dates to the early decades of the 20th century; the patina covering the object is excellent, perfectly consistent with our dating.
