This elegant French giltwood mirror, dating to the early 20th century, is executed in the refined Régence and Neoclassical taste that revived 18th-century courtly ornament with academic precision. The tall arched form is crowned by an elaborate crest featuring scrolling acanthus leaves and a classical floral finial, framed by delicately carved foliage and beaded moldings that reflect superb craftsmanship.

The richly carved giltwood frame displays fine hand-worked detailing throughout, including stylized rosettes at the corners and a continuous leaf-and-bead inner border that draws the eye inward to the mirror plate.
